Cut off an inch

I've taken off about an inch of relaxed hair, and have about 2.5 left of it. Though in some places it's actually broken off {sigh} I haven't put a relaxer in my hair for about 6 weeks, and I have about an inch of growth (tight) so it's a matter of treating my hair the way it would like to be treated, so that it stays in my head instead of coming out. I've been using Fantasia hair polisher and Olive Oil. So far, so good. My hair is soft.
